Evil Dead is a remake of the 1981 horror meets comedy film. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi, the star and director of the old film, return as producers for this one. A nice follow up to last year’s Cabin in the Woods, SXSW continues its tradition of presenting interesting horror films. The storyline is essentially the same, a group goes into the woods to spend the weekend at a cabin and ends up summoning the undead. How closely it sticks to the original remains to be seen but, regardless, it promises to be a fascinating take on a cult-classic.

The film features Whedon favorites like Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Tom Lenk and more.
