Sophia Ernst received her yoga certification through CorePower Yoga directly after high school. She has been busy teaching yoga since that summer. After graduating from University in Chicago, she returned to her roots and taught yoga at SmithFork Ranch, a luxury ranch in the Colorado mountains. On Tuesday, February 26th Sipping N’ Painting hosted their monthly charity fundraiser that benefits a local Colorado charity. This month the proceeds went to Rocky Mountain Active 20-30 (RMA 20-30). RMA 20-30 is a group of young women who are dedicated to raising awareness about local charities and organizations that help at risk youth. RMA 20-30 hosts fundraisers and other events to raise money and awareness, and then they donate these funds to deserving local charities. Most scholarships range from between 5,000 to 10,000 dollars per charity.  Sipping N’ Painting, a Colorado grown company, has made it central to their business to help their community by not only hosting a space where friends can gather together and paint, but by diligently supporting local charities.

Tuesday nights painting activities were lead by the talented Annie who is also an art teacher. She carefully instructed the entire group on how to produce a lovely winter scene on canvas. She gave step by step instructions to recreate the winter scene, simultaneously encouraging individual creativity. It is wonderful to see all the participants having fun painting, laughing, and sharing in the community that art can build. You can follow which charities and events Sipping N’ Painting are hosting by browsing their calendar.
