We’re a magazine all about celebrating women, and in a global society where women are making a difference in the community, Miss A Denver finds the best local events that showcases such impact.
On March 7, Cocktails for a Cure is a women-only event celebrating Colorado women while supporting the continued research and treatment of women’s cancers at the University of Colorado Cancer Center.

Hosted at the McNichols Building at the Civic Center, this will be the 4th annual premier fundraiser featuring scrumptious cocktails created by top local mixologist and an infinite choice of hors d’oeuvres. Accompanying these delicious cocktails and savory treats is a silent auction that is twice as big as last year with close to $5,000 in Oster Jewels, a weekend in Snowmass, Telluride or Bachelor Gulch and other fun treats!
Funds raised at Cocktails for a Cure directly benefit research and treatment programs for women’s cancers such as breast, cervical, uterine and ovarian cancers at the University of Colorado Cancer Center. Last year, the event raised close to $160,000, and this year all funds raised at the event will be matched by the Foundation including all tickets purchased. What’s even better is that all the money the event raises stays right in Colorado.
The University of Colorado Cancer Center Fund is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the University of Colorado Cancer Center to support its outstanding programs in cancer prevention, care, education, research and service to the nation.
