Building Blocks For Change Launch Event At The Classic Car Club In SoHo

The official launch event for Building Blocks for Change will be held on Saturday, March 2 at the Classic Car Club in SoHo. Open bar will start at 9 p.m. and end at midnight. The ticket sales and donations will go towards supporting their Siana Boarding School Project. The event’s goal is to raise $20,000, which would allow for them to install a hybrid wind and solar system at the Siana Boarding School in the Masaai Mara of Kenya. The boarding school has 1,240 students. This renewable energy system would reduce the monthly cost of their school by $1,100 per month. Instead, the school can allocate the money to being spent on health and education, thereby providing the students with a brighter and safer living environment.

Building Blocks For Change is a nonprofit for international aid, striving to reduce poverty and enhance standards of living globally. Some key elements for a healthy economy include health, education, potable water and sanitation services. Without this basic infrastructure, other forms of aid are difficult and not able to sustain a significant impact.  Therefore, it is their goal to tackle these issues by facilitating development and maintenance to the communities in need of it. The plan is to give them all of the necessary tools in order to do this.

Building Blocks believes that these developments would then lead to less poverty and an improved standard of living. They will collaborate with other nonprofit groups looking to expand operations but that are unable to do so due to a lack of proper infrastructure.

Tickets for the event will also be sold at the door, but it is encouraged to buy them now at a reduced rate in case they sell out. There will be a silent auction, live performance and entertainment by a surprise music sommelier. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Black tie is encouraged. Please be sure to come out to celebrate and support this wonderful new charity!
