New York City is about to “Rock it like a Redhead” at the first-ever beauty and fashion event designed exclusively for redheads. Set for Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Tribeca’s 60 Reade private art gallery, the ultimate red-carpet party will benefit the American Heart Association and consists of networking, interactive beauty workshops, a runway fashion show, shopping and, of course, an after party.
Beginning at 5 p.m. on March 16, hundreds of redheaded women and their friends (who can play along and wear red hair accessories given away at the door) will gather together to celebrate and embrace the uniqueness they share of being a redhead partaking in personalized beauty workshops from a variety of cosmetic companies including the main makeup sponsor Whip Hand Cosmetics, Pureology, Incoco nailpolish, Susan Ciminelli and Prescriptives. Following the beauty-focused sessions, redheads will enjoy a fashion show featuring hand-picked designers Dana-Maxx (contemporary NY-based fashions), Oasis and Warehouse, among others, starting at 8 p.m.
Sister duo (and natural redheads) Stephanie and Adrienne Venditti founded the How To Be a Redhead website two years ago as a means to highlight the beauty products and fashion items that best complement today’s trendy redheaded woman. Growing up as young girls, the Venditti sisters had trouble finding “redhead-friendly” products that catered to their fair complexions and vibrant hair colors, instigating both of them to try-out all sorts of lotions, shampoos, and makeup products and share their reviews and thoughts with redheads across the country. Their inaugural “Rock it like a Redhead” event was created with a shared goal: to empower redheads to feel confident, look amazing and rock their natural beauty.
“An event has never been done like this before. Ever! There have been events that gathered redheads together, but Rock it like a Redhead is a whole other ball game… It will be a monumental evening all about rockin’ redhead beauty and fashion. It’s a redhead’s dream! No one can miss this!” –Stephanie Venditti
