The Lucky Knot is one of the newest shops in Old Town Alexandria, located a block away from the beautiful waterfront. The store opened July 4, 2012 and Stavroulla Kokkinis, one of the owners, says she thought Independence Day was “a perfect [time] to open our American Classics Lifestyle clothing store.” The Lucky Knot stocks fresh, preppy pieces, many featuring a hint of the sea. From classics like Martha’s Vineyards, to fun Lilly Pulitzer printed accessories and Anchored Style apparel, both women and men will find something to love in this shop.
They also feature great American made designers like: Sail to Sable, Jude Connally, Leslie Evers, High Cotton Ties, Kiel James Patrick, and Collared Green. The Lucky Knot recognizes the importance of selling a majority of items made in America to bolster our country’s growth. The second floor of their shop features items for your night out and more formal occasions. I stopped in this weekend and picked up a great pair of blue/white striped with anchor button earrings.
This trendy boutique not only offers great labels, but they also have a great heart for the community — in the past they’ve donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.
In March, they will be participating in The Toast to Fashion, hosted by volunteers of the Junior Friends of the Campagna Center. All proceeds will directly benefit The Campagna Center of Alexandria and its mission to draw together the resources of the community to strengthen families and provide programs that help children become caring, productive adults.
The best way to find out what’s new with The Lucky Knot is by checking out their Facebook page where you’ll discover posts about the latest events, sales and new inventory.

This is a great place for my DC and Northern Virginia clients to shop for a date night. Sharing…
