This Friday, February 8, 2013, the American Red Cross will be celebrating their 56th International Red Cross Ball at The Breakers Palm Beach. This annual white-tie and tiara affair will celebrate more than 50 years of being one of the top events on the Palm Beach social calendar. The ball will welcome some of Palm Beach’s elite, including ambassadors, dignitaries, government and civic officials. Philanthropic leaders from around the world will also be in attendance in support of the vital humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross. The evening will be hosted by Ambassador Mary M. Ourisman and Honorary Junior Mr. and Mrs. Matthew T. Mellon II. American actress Dina Merrill Hartley will be honored at the event with a performance by her grandson Cole Rumbough.
For almost one hundred years, the local Red Cross has given hope and help to people in their greatest hour of need by meeting the physical and emotional needs of disaster victims, teaching lifesaving skills such as CPR and First Aid, and supporting military members and their families.
