On Saturday, February 9, the high-profile runway competition Fashion Uncorked returns for a fourth year to showcase Atlanta’s freshest design talent and raise funds for the non-profit organization Easter Seals of North Georgia. This year, the event will be held at the fabulous America’s Mart in Downtown Atlanta.
Fashion Uncorked’s Top 10 finalists were chosen from Atlanta’s most talented emerging designers. For the competition, they must create three original looks – day wear, evening wear and children’s wear with matching teddy bear – that will be judged by a panel of fashion experts.
The illustrious judges are: Tracee Dundas, founder of Fashion Week New Orleans; Raphael Cox, fashion designer; Erica Benoit, entertainment industry stylist; Mori Green, fashion academic; Sherie Nevette, stylist for Piazza Sempione; Mary Jo Miller, former department chair at The Art Institute of Atlanta; and E. Vincent Martinez, creator of “Doggies on the Catwalk” and host of Style Mag VM.
This year’s hosts are 11Alive’s Christine Pullara and The Art Institute’s Dr. Courtney A. Hammonds.
The winner of Fashion Uncorked will receive round-trip airfare to Los Angeles and a two-night stay in a luxury hotel to participate in LA Fashion Week.
Attendees will enjoy a professionally-choreographed runway show, performances by the Atlanta Ballet, Ghazalah Coulter and Karmella Daniel, refreshments, and a fashionable auction to benefit Easter Seals of North Georgia.
