Super Bowl XLVII has finally arrived and it’s time to kickoff your weekend with plenty of exciting events. This weekend marks the start of Chicago Restaurant Week featuring more than 250 restaurants throughout the city. From dancing and dining to drinks, Chicago has a great weekend planned for you.

Chicago Restaurant Week 2013

This weekend is the beginning of one of the most anticipated weeks of the year:

Running from February 1 to 10, the ten-day dining experience will feature more than 250 restaurants with prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33/$44 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). Local foodies and visitors alike can sample some of Chicago’s best cuisines during this culinary celebration.

Savile at Wired Fridays at the Chicago Cultural Center

Free to the public, Wired Fridays is part of a series of “lunch break” concerts featuring local

and national DJs and electronic music at the Chicago Cultural Center in the Randolph Cafe. From ambient to dance, the DJs and artists are uncovered each Friday through May. This Friday will feature Savile, also known as Gianpaolo. He has released records on numerous music labels and has had his share of time in the DJ booth at many Chicago venues. Take a break from your hectic day at work and join in on the fun at Wired Fridays.

Yo La Tengo at the Vic Theater

Don’t miss Yo La Tengo, the American indie rock band formed in Hoboken, New Jersey, performing their latest and greatest hits at the Vic Theater. The notable Vic Theater is small historic Chicago theater known for mastering the live music experience persona. Jad Flair, American, singer guitarist and founding member of lo-fi alternative rock group Half Japanese, will be performing along with Yo La Tengo at their Friday night showcase.

Snowball at Union Station

Hospital of Chicago, The Junior Council will hold their 25th annual Snowball on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Great Hall of Historic Union Station. The premier event for young professionals, will feature a fancy feast, a silent auction and much more. Musical entertainment will be provided by Rod Tuffcurls and the Benchpress. To continue with the theme of restaurant week, the Snowball will feature a variety of delectable bite-size treats from some of Chicago’s finest restaurants.

Super Bowl XLVII at Trio
