Spring Into The Mod Look With Online Retailers

Laser cut skirts, nude lips and fierce eyes will take you a long way this spring as fashion designers embrace the second coming of the “British Invasion” Mod Style.  New York’s Spring Fashion Week 2013 featured some of the top designers’ take on the 1960’s trend with an upbeat twist.  Marc Jacobs dashed the runway with black and white patterned pieces evocative of Warwick Avenue, while Carolina Herrera, Chloe and Calla added a splash of color and texture to their designs to embrace the new age and pay homage to the past.

These fabulous Mod looks are not out of reach. Complete Mod ensembles can be found on ModCloth, the adorable and appropriately named online retailer. A number of the items on the website are reasonably priced and very well made.  I recently purchased a pair of saddle shoes from the website and I am pleased to say the craftsmanship exceeded my expectations.  TopShop is another amazing retailer that carries Mod inspired clothing with a modern spin. Their “Debutante collection” combines the mod feel of the 60’s with the romance of the 50’s. The collection features chunky heels, platform sandals, boldly printed tops and trousers accompanied by cat eye and hexagon shaped sunglasses.  TopShop has a select number of stores in the USA and Europe in addition to a phenomenal website that offers global shipping. H&M is also a great resource for Mod inspired clothing across the board. They have an extensive website and various stores throughout the United States.
