To describe the Dell Children’s Gala 2013 as incredible is an understatement! Guests enjoyed cocktails from numerous open bars during the cocktail hour while bidding on the extremely wide variety of silent auction items.

Bidders had the opportunity to bid on items such as an autographed Willie Nelson mosaic portrait by artist Mitch Brookman, a five course dinner and wine tasting for 10 at 34th Street Café by Chef Jason Tallent, a $1,000 design and $5,000 installation credit for a pool by Splash and Company, and a $1,000 landscaping consultation by David Wilson Garden Design, Inc.
The live auction was high energy and included extraordinary items such as tickets to The Tonight Show, a visit to Jay Leno’s Garage, a four night stay at Casa Malibu in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and, my favorite, a black Labrador Retriever puppy complete with treatments from Rosedale Veterinary Clinic, a starter kit from Bark ‘n Purr, and gift certificate for ten days at Camp 4 Paws.
Guests enjoyed a presentation about the impact of The Dell Children’s Medical Center on our community and performances including Gordy Quist, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis. Texas Lasso volunteers from The University of Texas at Austin helped to create an unbelievable night for patrons.

Later in the night, guests danced and mingled to entertainment by DJ Manny and tried their hands in the casino lounge dressed to the hilt with dramatic lighting, custom loveseats, and stunning floral arrangements adorning each table.
Finally, the after-party at Four Season’s Trio took place for the night owls continuing to celebrate the substantial and direct impact this year’s fundraiser had on the Dell Children’s Medical Center and all the young lives it strengthened, the families that it affected, and lives that it changed for the better.
