Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the American Heart Association hosts National Wear Red Day as a part of its Go Red for Women Campaign. On February 1, Americans across the country are encouraged to wear red and bring attention to heart disease. In 2004, AHA created the campaign to help “educate women on heart disease, help women come together to show their support, and increase funding for research and treatments.” Austin is one of the many cities participating in the campaign.
For National Wear Red Day, the team at Austin Beauty Guide is asking Austinites to come out in their best red attire. This event will kick off its spring Austin Beauty Week. The event, appropriately titled Beauty Goes Red, is a red-themed party to raise funds and awareness for the Central Texas Go Red for Women Campaign at The Belmont in downtown Austin.
During the event, guests will be treated to product samples and giveaways, mini treatments, and services and more. The first 50 guests will receive swag bags. At the last kick-off event, guests were pampered with manicures, updos, quick spray tans, complimentary drinks and music. This is definitely a fun event to grab your friends and head to for a night of pampering.
There are countless events happening around the country as part of National Wear Red Day. Find an event near you or sponsor your own.
