The month of February is often identified as the month of love due to Valentine’s Day. February in Philadelphia celebrates the love of heart health with the American Heart Association’s 56th Annual Annual Heart Ball on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
The Heart Ball is a black tie event created to honor AHA’s work and mission. The night celebrates donors, volunteers and the lives saved and improved because of their efforts. The event promises to be an enchanting evening of revelry and passion, bringing community and philanthropic leaders together. Everyone will enjoy a gourmet dinner and both a silent and live auction, which provides life-saving funds for research, education programs, and awareness.
The evening will honor Brian Tierney, CEO of Brian Communications and Realtime Media, and Dr. Vicki Vetter, Medical Director of Youth Heart Watch program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Sponsors for the event includes Penn Medicine, Jannsen, Bravo Health and Independence Blue Cross.
The American Heart Association’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and strokes. The organization
realizes their work is needed in America’s fight against heart disease. The Heart Ball campaign raised just over $51 million nation-wide in 2012, which funded over $123 millon in research and programs across the country.
