Guitars Under The Stars Gala In Austin To Benefit Educational Outreach Program

A 12 year old middle school student writes, “I have experienced the beauty and elegance of classical guitar. It has always kept my interest, beginning with private lessons the summer I turned five and continuing as a sixth grader in a middle school in the Austin school district, which has a classical guitar program. The experience has enriched me with the joy of music.”

This is a student touched by the magic of the Austin Classical Guitar Society, a group of passionate people who work diligently to inspire, motivate and strengthen school-based music education in Austin.  ACGS has built guitar classes in over 30 different middle and high schools including the Travis Juvenile Justice System and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.   ACGS has truly taken the old fashioned, typical music classes in schools to the next level with their intricate and rich curricula and professional and well versed professors.

This Valentine’s weekend, ACGS will present an elegant gala at One World Theatre “Austin’s most romantic venue” as claimed by The Austin Chronicle and will feature the Bandini-Chiacchiaretta Tango Duo for a magical evening of Guitars Under the Stars, Educational Outreach Gala.

The Bandini-Chiacchiaretta Duo formed in 2002 with the goal of creating Argentine music through the “charm and magic” of it’s fundamental instruments.  The duo became an instant success due to their energy and beautiful music making and are invited to important and popular festivals, concerts and theatres around the world.

This gala is to continue the education outreach program of the society and to also say “Thank you” to all who have participated in spreading the knowledge and beauty of classical guitar to children across Austin from all walks of life.  Music can truly change lives.
