Patty Jae is a publicist in the city of Chicago. She grew up with a strong social awareness which has caused her to devote countless hours to volunteering. Patty has volunteered in a variety of industries from helping paint chairs at a new kids getaway camp to traveling to Australia for a summer to plant trees. Her time as a public relations professional has caused her to realize all the different ways people are giving back to the community. From a high-profile celebrity gala to a promotion at a local boutique benefiting the local school district, people everywhere are helping others. When not donating her time or attending a work or social event, Patty enjoys reading books, listening to podcasts and watching captivating Ted Talks. Chicago’s First Bites Bash To Kick Off Restaurant Week

Satisfy your inner foodie by attending the First Bites Bash 2013. Now in its sixth year, the event serves as an official kick off to Chicago Restaurant Week. Chefs from 50 restaurants will provide small portions of their tastiest creations. Chef Dirk Flanigan will host this year’s event with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

The bash will take place at the Great Hall of Union Station, providing the perfect locale for browsing and sampling the numerous restaurant booths. The evening will feature a Tasting Table Sweet Relief Lounge for those in need of a sugar fix. Peroni and Blue Moon will be available to mix and match with the food pairings of your choice.  Participating restaurants include: Wildfire, The Bedford, Tesori, Café Ba-Ba-Reeba!, Carriage House, Paris Club and more. First in Line tickets are sold out, but you still have a chance to secure an adult admission ticket for $95.

This event marks only the beginning of the food party; Chicago Restaurant Week starts February 1. The city-wide culinary celebration was established to promote the restaurant industry and drive traffic during a typically slow time of year. More than 250 participating restaurants will feature prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33 to $44 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity).
