On Wednesday, January 23, Vie will be filled with guests watching some of the best culinary artists of Philadelphia compete with one another to see who has the most spectacular kosher creations in the city. Bubby’s Cook Off will feature five of the Philadelphia area’s premier chefs making spectacular kosher delicacies and throwing in the fun aspect of competition, all to support the Friendship Circle of the Lubavitch of Bucks County. Join in on the fun as you watch these chefs go head-to-head, all for a great cause.
Those who attend Bubby’s Cook Off at Vie will enjoy an evening filled with unique Israeli wines, hors d’oeuvres, awards presentations, cook off samplings and more. Five chefs who will be involved in the Bubby’s Cook Off competition include Guillermo Pernot, Chef-Partner of Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar, Jean-Marie Lacroix, Chef-Partner of Brúlée Catering, Mike Deganis, Executive Chef of Alla Spina, Shane Cash, Executive Chef of Rat’s Restaurant, and Yehuda Sichel, Executive Chef of Citron and Rose. In addition to viewing the chefs in action, attendees will also be able to applaud the efforts of some special individuals including the General Manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, Ruben Amaro, Jr., who will receive the Champion of Friendship Award and Jonathon and Rachel Levine, the recipients of the Couple of the Year Award.
The proceeds from Bubby’s Cook Off will go to benefit the Friendship Circle of the Lubavitch of Bucks County, located in Newtown. The Friendship Circle helps children with special needs by offering a wide array of programs and activities. The Friendship Circle takes it one step further by pairing the children with teenage volunteers, which leads to the end result of a fulfilling time for all involved. With the funds raised from Bubby’s Cook Off, the Lubavitch of Bucks County can take their Friendship Circle to a whole new level.
In addition to the talented chefs who will be in attendance, the event will also feature competition judges who are well known in the Philadelphia culinary and entertainment industries including Audrey Claire Taichman, Hope Cohen, Nancy Glass and Stephanie Stahl. The Master of Ceremony for the evening will be Food Producer for Philly.com and Columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Michael Klein.
