With the excitement and joys of the Holidays and the New Year behind us, we tend to forget that some families were not as fortunate as the rest. The victims of Hurricane Sandy have left many families without homes, clothing, and basic necessities. Bloomingdale’s has resolved for the New Year to help these families through special initiatives to support relief efforts.
Shoppers can stylishly support this wonderful cause by purchasing these super cute limited-edition Hurricane Sandy relief t-shirts. Partnering with Alternative Apparel, these shirts were exclusively designed for Bloomingdale’s by some of our favorite celebrities including: supermodel Carolyn Murphy, professional surfers Kassia Meador and Jon Rose, fashion designer Billy Reid, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, musician and designer Pharrell Williams, and Saturdays Surf NYC designers Josh Rosen, Colin Tunstall and Morgan Collett.
These trendy tops are retailing for only $50, with no less than 80% of the proceeds benefiting Waves for Water. Waves for Water is a non-profit organization that focuses on rebuilding the families and businesses of the New York and New Jersey coastal communities that were affected by the storm.
“In the spirit of giving and compassion, which is the core of the Bloomingdale’s brand, we are committed to do our part in rebuilding the lives of those in the affected communities,” said Anne Keating, senior vice president of public relations, special events and corporate philanthropy. “With the support of our loyal shoppers both in-store and online, we hope to make a real difference.”
If your New Year’s resolution was to give back while staying trendy, this is the perfect way to start 2013.
