On December 14, the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas held their Holiday Luncheon and Awards at Prestonwood Country Club. Founding board member Lisa Stemaly was awarded the musical silver jewelry box inscribed with “Most Outstanding Lady” for her work throughout the year with the LPA. This is the seventh jewelry box awarded since the LPA’s inception and only the second time a founding board member has received it. The women’s group, featuring polo players, wives, parents and fans of polo, was founded in 2005 in an effort to promote and support the sport of polo through social and charitable endeavors. To date, over $500,000 has been raised for local women’s and children’s charities through the efforts of the LPA and their passion for polo.
The Ladies are looking forward to a very busy 2013 polo season at Prestonwood Polo and Country Club in Oak Point, Texas. Kicking off the spring social season is the 12th annual Polo on the Lawn, a Kentucky Derby Day event.
The Ladies are proud to announce a new beneficiary, Project Transformation, new sponsors Palomar/Central 214, Lovell PR and Budweiser and returning sponsors Barefoot Wines, Cenel Ventures, Applebees Little Elm and TIGI.
Look for “The Equestrian” cocktail, mixologist Amber West‘s take on the Mint Julep, coming soon. One dollar from every Equeastrian sold in the announced month will go to Project Transformation. Stay tuned for details!
