The 2013 Philadelphia Auto Show will kick off its event with its Philadelphia Auto Show Black Tie Tailgate Event on Friday, January 18th 2013. The Black Tie event benefits benefit the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia has been donating to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for 27 years now. In 2003 the Auto Dealers Caring for Kids Foundation was established as a public charity to annually donate to children programs in the Greater Philadelphia area.
The Auto Dealers Caring for Kids Foundation mission is to enhance and enrich the lives of children and youth in the communities in which its dealer members work and live. They provide access to and support excellence in the institutions and programs that serve local children. The first donation from the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia in 1986 was $50,000 since then $4.9 million has been provided to CHOP through The Auto Dealers Caring for Kids Foundation.
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the number one GI program in the country. Seeing 30,000 patients every year and providing care for conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, general diagnostic gastroenterology, failure to thrive, liver disease, pancreatic disease, gastroparesis and motility. The Lustgarten Center for GI Motility was established to provide world-class diagnostic resources in a new GI Motility Laboratory, which is unavailable at most children’s hospitals.
The Black Tie event will include dining and dancing with all the latest and most beautiful cars of 2013. The Cuisine will be provided by Stephen Starr Events which will be full of different selections throughout the space. Entertainment will be provided by Jellyroll party band located between the Lexus and Mercedes displays in the Grand Hall. The event will have 40 different manufacturers and over 700 different vehicles to check out.
