#GIVINGTUESDAY Encourages Charitable Activities

GivingTuesday‘Tis the season to count our blessings and be thankful for what we have. The blur of Gray Thursday, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday easily makes it hard to see the real reason for the season.

Tuesday, November 27, 2012, the first ever #GivingTuesday initiative is the platform needed to spread the love to charitable organizations and people all over the world.  #GivingTuesday celebrates and encourages charitable activities by individuals and businesses to benefit at least one 501(c)3. You can look at it as an umbrella that showcases inventive and exciting projects to assist to those in need. Each contributing person or company controls its way of lending a helping hand, encouraging inventive and fresh new ways to contribute. From JP Morgan to JC Penney, #GivingTuesday helps thousands of people and businesses to give back. Your efforts are not limited to organizations listed on the website.

GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a motivator to do a good deed, no matter how you decide. For an example of giving-out-of-the-box, Jenkintown Building Services in Philadelphia is pledging free window cleaning to a 79-unit affordable housing facility, home to many men and women in the Philadelphia area that were once homeless. The best way to show your appreciation is to love thy neighbor and use your means as a way to contribute to making world a happier place. November 27 will forever be recognized as a day to creatively help those around you. So the question remains; what will YOU give?
