Wish NYC: A Toast to Wishes Annual Benefit was among one of the few events not postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. It was held on Thursday, November 15 from 7-10 p.m. at Lavo. Zach Coopersmith,  Alli Holzberg, and Lauren Goodrich, New Leadership Council members of Make-A-Wish®Metro New York and Western New York, together with some of their closest friends hosted the event to benefit Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York. There was a red carpet entrance, top shelf bar, as well as hors d’oeuvres and passed champagne, which were in frequent circulation. The silent auction was replete with many wonderful prizes. The after party was held at Riff Raff’s where those who had VIP tickets partied the night away.

The event, as always, was a huge success. Having been sold out, there was an outstanding turnout of young professionals. Needless to say, the party was hopping and for a very good cause.

The benefit raised over $280,000 in net contributions, which exceeded this year’s goal of raising $250,000. Considering almost nothing was spent on the actual event, this money will go a very long way in making children happy. The money will grant more than 40 wishes of kids who have life-threatening medical conditions in Metro New York and Western New York. Over the last few years, this event has gained momentum, resulting in increased fundraising and involvement from attendees in volunteer and board activities.

Be sure to get your ticket way in advance next year, because it will be sure to sell out quickly!
