Greta Russo and Antoine Johnson of Pet Support Phashion Charity Affair held their 2nd annual dog fashion show, “Angels” at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia on November 16, in support of the pets and pet owners affected by Hurricane Sandy. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the ASPCA to help those affected in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York rebuild.
The evening was hosted by Mike Jerrick of Good Day Philadelphia and Kharisma McIlwaine from The CW Philly and featured performances by singer Felicia Punzzo accompanied by Flo Motion Dance Company as well as The Goddess Isis and The Misfits. Doggie designers Olga Zablinskaya and Genny Perez debuted their new collection, Conchita Couture, the official pet couture fashion for the new reality series Bitches of South Beach, while Jacqueline Myles of Todd Anthony Couture showcased a special collection, for humans, made just for this event. Pet treats that looked good enough for us humans to eat were provided by Eskico, a Wilmington, De. based wholefood snack company with a twist.
Guests, models and pets alike mingled in the spacious event room of Sigma Sound, sipping cocktails and chatting about what this event means to them. I had the pleasure of meeting both Greta Russo and Antoine Johnson during the evening and, as we chatted, it was very clear that these two have a passion for “phashion” as well as their four legged friends. Everyone in attendance was truly there to support the cause!
The Pet Support Phashion Charity Affair was developed to assist Humane Law Enforcement, an organization whose officers assist local and state police while enforcing animal anti-cruelty laws. The fashion show, as well as other sponsored events, are held to raise funds for the much-needed tools their officers use to perform their daily tasks as well as to provide continued education to the community about the work done by the HLE to serve and protect the animals.
