Miss A Columnist

Tara Hagen is a happy-go-lucky twenty-something loving life in Austin, Texas. Born in Dallas, Tara has lived in Atlanta, London, Martha’s Vineyard, and Little Rock but refers to Austin as the city of her dreams. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in consumer journalism and a certificate in personal and organizational leadership. She loves adventure and isn’t afraid to explore new restaurants, interesting cities, and thrives on getting to know the fascinating people she meets along the way. Her contributions to the interior design world can be seen on hgtv.com; when she’s not working, writing, or honing her photography skills, she enjoys playing with her cockapoo, Mildred, at one of the many parks around town. Tara works in enterprise technology sales for a Fortune 10 company and is a volunteer at The Arc of the Capital Area, where she assists teaching art classes to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also hopes to learn how to play drums prior to December 31, 2012.

Citizen Generation’s mission is to create a philanthropic experience and cultivate donors for life, making philanthropy fun and affordable. Its beneficiaries have equally compelling missions. While Seedling Foundation serves public schools through mentoring children of incarcerated parents, campus beautification and a college admissions preparation program, the Center for Child Protection aims to reduce trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.
