Winter is just about here, and while many people may be huddling up under their covers at home, others are busy at work raising money to help those who don’t have stable homes to huddle up in.
On Tuesday November 27th, UNICEF will be hosting their annual Snowflake Ball, one of the most well known and loved black-tie events that graces New York City every winter. The night will include the traditional lighting of the UNICEF snowflakes, which honor the charitable commitments people have made to save children’s lives around the world, and will also include a live auction by Courtney Booth of Sotheby’s, live performances by Tony Bennett and The Wynton Marsalis Quintet and the presentation of the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award to Harry Belafonte, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and the Helenka Pantaleoni Humanitarian Award to Dolores Rice Gahan.
Since its conception in 2005, the Snowflake Ball has raised over $16 million dollars, which has gone to supporting UNICEF programs around the world that provide education, health facilities and protection to children in need. So be sure to join in one of winter’s most prominent charity events, it promises to be an exhilarating and inspiring event.
