Fashion Group International of Dallas is gearing up for The Fashion & Lifestyle Awards “Night of Stars” Gala to recognize local businesses and support education of local fashion students and talent in Dallas. We can’t wait to see some of the best dressed in Dallas come out for this amazing cause. NorthPark Center, the presenting icon sponsor, will dress the Fashion Police and 10 philanthropic notables who will walk the runway.
We wanted to sit down to pick the brain of the youngest member of the fashion police, Mr. Dallas Dillon. This 15-year-old is a music lover, who enjoys playing the string base in four orchestras. If the name Dillion rings a bell, it’s probably because his mom is philanthropist Heidi Dillon, founder of the Fashionistas, former cast member of “Big Rich Texas“ and executive producer/ partner of Morning Dew Pictures.
Q: How does it feel to become one of the youngest members of the Dallas fashion police squad?
A: Wow It’s really a huge honor. My mom has been a part of Fashion Group International for a long time. I am proud to be part of something that means so much to her.
Q: Can you describe your personal style?
A: I am minimalist, with a touch of edge. Sometimes, I like to be a little controversial in the way that I dress and at times (I lean to a) more minimalist (style).
Q: Do you have any favorite designers?
A: I like Dior for my dress suits, Prada and Jil Sander for shoes, McQueen scarves and accessories and James Perse for casual.
Q: Favorite place to dine in Dallas?
A: My mom, dad and I like to get dressed up and go out to dinner on Saturday nights. My favorite place to eat is Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse. I love the atmosphere there. They treat us like family.
Q: What would we find you doing on a day off?
A: I like sleeping, eating and going to the movies with my mom and dad.
Q: Have you decided on a particular career path?
A: I plan to be a filmmaker. My mom is a partner in a television production company in LA. We spend our summers in Malibu, so I get to shoot second camera on some of their projects while we are out there. I feel really lucky to have found my calling.
Q: One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
A: People would be surprised to know how serious I am about film making. Also, I am a real homebody and love spending time with my family.
Q: How do you feel about strutting down the catwalk?
A: I am a little nervous about walking the catwalk. My mom keeps trying to make me practice, but I think I’ll be ok. I walked the runway once before at a Kidney Luncheon, so I’m confident (that) I will be fine.
