Lesley Haenny is the Seattle Editor for Miss A. She is an Air Force wife now living in the Seattle area. Prior to living in Seattle, Lesley spent 7 years in Washington, DC, working as a Congressional liaison. She grew up in a small, mountain town in Southern California, sandwiched between an older sister and a younger brother. Her two hard working parents taught her to always go for the clearance rack, bring your lunch everyday, work hard for what you have, and always take the opportunity to travel and play outside. 35th Annual Festival Of Trees At The Fairmont Olympic Hotel To Benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital

When I lived in the Washington, D.C. area, during the holidays I would spend a weekend or two walking through the White House Pathway of Peace to visit the White House Christmas Tree and the trees representing the different states and territories.

While Seattle does not have the White House, it does have the Fairmont Olympic Hotel featuring the 35th Annual Festival of Trees. Beginning on Sunday, November 18 and continuing through Wednesday, November 28, you will be able to walk with your family through the beautiful and festive display of Christmas trees.

The trees will also be available for sponsoring and purchasing, with proceeds going to Seattle Children’s Hospital to provide quality medical care to all children of the region regardless of a family’s ability to pay. With a $2,500 sponsor donation that is fully tax-deductible, your company name will be displayed at the Fairmont Hotel for two weeks and will also be shown on the patient story board which accompanies each tree to its new home, and you will be recognized on the Festival of Trees’ website. A tree can also be purchased for $4,000. With each tree being valued at $2,000, the difference will also be tax deductible.

If you do not wish to sponsor or purchase one of the festive trees, you can support Seattle’s Children Hospital by attending the Festival of Trees Gala Dinner at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel on Saturday, November 17, which coincides with the opening of the festival itself. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., come dressed in your best holiday attire for a three course wine-paired dinner, a no-host bar and enjoy Max Wang playing Christmas melodies on the piano while bidding on exclusive silent auction items. Corinne Fiske of Northwest Benefit Auction will be the evening auctioneer, and Mark Wright, KING 5 Morning News anchor, will host the live program.
