Its always a good time to support the animals especially if you’re an animal lover like myself. Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is always a great place to start with your journey to support the animals.
When you want to adopt an animal or donate to a great cause PAWS is the place to do it. I adopted my cat from PAWS and it was a great experience. PAWS is a non-profit dedicated to saving animals that are unwanted and abandoned. Most importantly, PAWS is the largest NO- Kill shelter in Philadelphia. They operate at low cost yet high volumes and provide low cost care for animals so everyone can afford basic veterinary care. PAWS is working towards having every animal in a happy, healthy home.
On November 3rd PAWS is presenting its 6th annual Mutt Strut which will be held in FDR Park located 1900 Pattison Ave in South Philadelphia. The event will include snacks for both two-legged and four-legged participants alike. There will be an “Ask the Vet” area, if pet owners have have questions about their furry friends. There will be a costume contest, so be sure to bring your pooch looking fashionable. While they are looking dashing in their outfits, they can be photographed as well.
If you don’t have a pup but you still want to attend, don’t worry because you can rent a mutt for the strut. Its a great way to make a new friend for the afternoon and you never know, it might become a permanent friend. Plenty of animals will be in attendance for adoption, looking for loving and caring homes.
Come out, it will be fun for the whole family. Kids can visit the KYW Kidscast station and be the anchor. Other sponsors include Manor College, Central Bark Doggy Daycare, Opportunity Barks and David’s Bridal.
