Bill Adler’s WILL Leather Goods flagship store celebrated its grand opening Wednesday, October 17 on the ultra hip Abbot Kinney Boulevard in downtown Venice Beach. The decision for the location was as simple as it was unpretentious, the new shop sits just blocks away from the Venice Boardwalk, where Adler debuted and sold his first collection, Billy Belts, in the early 1980s. The boutique comes with much anticipation from both the vibrant residents of Venice and the creative professionals of Los Angeles who appreciate classic silhouettes with natural beauty.

Originating in Eugene, Ore., the brand feels right at home in the spacious 1,700 square-foot 1930s building, where its design is equally industrial as it is modern. The structure has a unique integrity much like the brand within it; its intricately designed 30-foot ceiling includes diamond arches and is one of four remaining in the state of California. Inside, the space is accented with a vast amount of timber including Juniper, Douglas fir, Redwood and Walnut, keeping true to its roots while giving it a distinct lavish feel.
The evening’s crowd was lively and excited, most were enthralled in conversation or eyeing a new piece to add to their collection. Music by George Lewis Jr. aka Twin Shadrow and Wynne Bennet flowed perfectly with the tone of the event, tunes were subtle yet intellectually charming. Hors’d oeuvres were provided by the uber-trendy restaurant Gjelina, located just steps away. Refreshments were appropriately sponsored by Ninkasi Brewery, a company located in Eugene, Ore.

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Mr. Adler who was pleasant, exuberant and refreshingly modest. Much like the man behind the designs, your shopping experience will be one of harmony embellished with a free-spirit vibe!
