Last week, we covered Halloween events for families and kidsbut there are no shortage of happenings that are fun for adults too. Take a look at the list below of top events in the Austin area for Halloween this year.
Weird City Theatre is putting on the world premiere of five adaptations of Poe’s most sinister works. The performance takes a new look at old classics and weaves together film and live theatre to produce well known stories like The Tell-Tale Heart, Masque of the Red Death, Cask of Amontillado, Hop Frog and The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar.
An Austin original and favorite to many, Scare for a Cure is back for its 6th year. Since 2007, the all volunteer staff at this non-profit have worked tirelessly to scare participants and raise funds for the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. Although kids are allowed, many will find it too frightening as the adventure is geared toward teens and adults. The experience is an “extreme haunted house” meaning participants will not only be frightened, but also have to to walk, run, crawl and generally get dirty while making their way through. For an extra intense experience, consider buying Red Level tickets.
