Georgia Aquarium’s 7th Annual Aqua Vino To Make A Splash With Wolfgang Puck

Guests at Georgia Aquarium‘s seventh annual Aqua Vino, which will be hosted by Chef Wolfgang Puck on Thursday, November 8, will enjoy an exciting backdrop as they raise wine glasses and taste delicious foods. While they help support the Aquarium’s largest yearly fundraiser, visitors will be surrounded by six unique, vibrant galleries featuring over 500 species of aquatic life.

The evening begins with a Grand Tasting at 7 p.m., as guests sample more than 200 fine wines from around the world, along with delicious morsels catered by Atlanta’s premier restaurants.

Later, a live auction will feature a trip to Los Angeles and dinner for two at the newly reopened Spago Bevery Hills, with airfare courtesy of Southwest Airlines. A silent auction will also be held, giving guests an opportunity to bid on a Cayman Islands getaway and a Napa Valley wine-tasting trip that includes a trip to Opus One Winery.

VIP ticket holders will experience an exclusive Aqua Vino presentation with chef Wolfgang Puck. They’ll sample De Martino wines from Chile and foods from Wolfgang Puck Catering in a private lounge. Later, the VIP guests will take behind-the-scenes tours of the aquarium and receive premium gift bags containing custom aprons. The chef is “known to be very accommodating and engages with guests,” says Kristie Hacke, VP of development at the Georgia Aquarium, so he’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Proceeds from this gala will benefit Georgia Aquarium’s Veterinary Services through its Correll Center for Aquatic Animal Health. Specifically, the funds will benefit a state-of-the-art penguin nursery, already inhabited by two African penguin chicks named Lulu and Amara. Born this January, the chicks represent an exciting start to the Aquarium’s successful penguin-rearing process.

Funds from Aqua Vino will also support the Aquarium’s ongoing commitment to sustaining animal populations in the wild, as well as those entrusted to human caretakers.

The Georgia Aquarium is the world’s largest, with over 10 million gallons of water and the largest collection of aquatic animals.
