Hairstylist, make-up artist and philanthropist, Matthew Morris is the accomplished beauty guru for Denver. From humble beginnings, Morris built his career in the fashion and beauty industry where today he owns one of the top salons in Denver: The Matthew Morris Salon.

The salon recently moved to the Baker neighborhood, where several local businesses thrive. Unfortunately, the crime rate in the neighborhood has always been an issue and, although police do patrol the neighborhood, they do not have enough funds to provide extra measures for safety. So, believing in the safety of the community, Morris and his talented team decided to hold a fundraiser to benefit The Denver Police Foundation.

A shining success, the fundraiser, hosted at the Matthew Morris Salon, began at 7 p.m. Converting the parking lot into an event space, stylish men and women flooded the scene for cocktail hour in a well-structure tent. The space, lit with a warm blue light throughout and pink light fixtures above the crowd, was designed with care and style. High top tables were placed strategically throughout the event allowing attendees to rest their drinks when necessary.

On one side, a live DJ entertained the crowd while attendees enjoyed complimentary good eats from neighborhood restaurants such as GoFish Sushi, Deluxe, Juanita’s, Beatrice and Woodsley, Dougherty’s Restaurant and Pub and The Walnut Room. Wine and liquor were sponsored by Cupcake Vineyards and SilverCoin Tequila. On the other side of the space, a silent auction was held where items ranged from restaurant and boutique certificates to skincare products and designer wear. There was even a chance to bid on a one-year membership with Dry Dock Brewery which seemed to be quite a popular item.

Following the cocktail hour, the crowd made its way into the salon for the hair fashion show. With a packed room, models showcased a wide variety of wild hairstyles. Attendees were in awe to see the talented works of Matthew Morris Salon hairstylists. After which, complimentary cupcakes and sweets were served back at the tent and patrons were free to mingle, dance, network and continue to enjoy more hair art as models perused the crowd.

The benefit for the Denver Police Foundation was one of the most delightful fundraisers in Denver. If you want to learn more about Matthew Morris and his talented crew, come to the Matthew Morris Hair Salon and learn more about his philanthropy works while getting your hair done!
