On October 13, I attended the Fall Ball held at the Museum of Modern Art in support of Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers (CBSBB). The CBSBB is a non-profit which provide at-risk youth and their families with mentoring programs. The ball has been around for 15 years now and attracts a big enough crowd to populate both the first and second levels of the MoMA.
There was a silent auction and bids were placed on iPads, which were in abundant circulation. Prizes included tickets to Milly’s Fall Fashion Show, a 2-3 hour set from DJ Vito Fun, a crystal embroidered Marchesa clutch, a one-year supply of Vita Coco, vacation packages, exclusive dining and sporting experiences, and much more.
The guests, who were mostly young professionals, enjoyed various open bars, hors d’oeuvres and tunes by DJ Vito Fun. There was a VIP section both upstairs and downstairs, which included areas for the guests to sit down and private bars. The VIP guests also took a gift bag home with them. Men were mostly clad in black ties and women had on cocktail dresses, which were mostly short. As the night progressed, party-goers danced the night at the open-bar after-party held at Avenue.
