Join Water 1st International on Saturday, November 3, 2012 for the Give Water Give Life Benefit to celebrate clean water and the lives it saves.
The benefit will be held at Fremont Studios where guests will be able to enjoy a fiesta of live Latin music, delicious authentic foods and a unique silent auction. Guests will learn more about Water 1st’s work and how people’s lives have been transformed by community-managed projects that provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene education.
In addition to trips, local sports, dining and spa experiences that are part of many charity silent auctions, Water 1st’s international bazaar has truly unique items to bid on. You will be able to find pottery, oil paintings and woven scarves from the countries that Water 1st works in – Honduras, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and India. See a list of the all the wonderful auction items you can bid on here.
When I attended the event last year, the international bazaar was one of my favorite parts of the evening. We got into a competitive, but good-natured, bidding war with several other people over pottery from Honduras. That said, it was extremely fun to “win” and take home the pot, and gratifying to know that the funds raised from the evening helped many communities in developing countries. The 2011 Seattle Give Water Give Life event raised $555,000.
