Breast Cancer Awareness Month Activities In Austin

Several Austin establishments are offering specials this year for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a great way to pamper yourself or enjoy a great meal for a fantastic cause!

My favorite AWAY Spa at the W Austin is offering a ‘Pink Manis and Pedis’ treatment that will benefit Stiletto Stampede. The non-profit organization aims to raise awareness of breast cancer among young people, allowing individuals to get involved through fun programming.

Through the end of the month, AWAY will donate $10 from every manicure and pedicure, priced at $50 and $70 respectively, to the Stiletto Stampede. Guests that come in for the treatments this month can also enjoy a glass of pink bubbly and take home a complimentary bottle of pink SpaRitual Mini Nail Lacquer.

Appetizers on the $39.95 three-course menu include Iceberg Lettuce Wedge, Caesar Salad and Wild Mushroom Bisque. A few of the entrees are Filet Mignon, Roasted Chicken Breast and Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and the side choices include Sweet Potato Casserole and Broccoli with Garlic among others. Then, to finish off on the sweet side, a few of the desserts include Warm Chocolate Brownie Cake, Key Lime Pie and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.

Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q has turned their signature cups pink for the month to raise awareness. To go with the cups, they will be accepting donations of $1 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. in exchange for a free large soda on each guest’s next visit (with a coupon for future use).  Additionally, Rudy’s will be donating a dollar for every new Facebook and Twitter follower during the month of October.
