CFDA: Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. The 2012 Fashion Targets Breast Cancer international t-shirt campaign is an effort to raise public awareness and funds to support breast cancer awareness, education, screening, and patient care. This year, supermodel Karolina Kurkova is the face of the campaign.“We are excited to have Karolina as the face of this campaign. She looks amazing wearing the FTBC Worldwide tee. Her support leads our industry’s effort as we raise funds for breast cancer programs around the globe,” says CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. Inspired by Ralph Lauren, the campaign became an ongoing initiative of the CFDA Foundation. Since its launch, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has become the worldwide fashion community’s singular and most successful response to breast cancer, raising over $50 million dollars. All proceeds of each shirt sold in the United States are donated to the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer fund at the New York Community Trust. T-shirts can be purchased online.
Loft.com + Giuliana Rancic. E! Star and new mommy Giuliana Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer just last year. This year, Giuliana is cancer free and determined to help others with breast cancer. “Fashion is the perfect outlet because it takes breast cancer awareness directly to women,” she says. “Women love to shop and use beauty products, so if they happen to see products out in the mall or in their local drugstore that are working in conjunction to breast cancer research, it might make them stop and think, ‘Oh I need to get checked!’ or ‘When was my last mammogram?’” Giuliana has recently partnered with Loft.com for their “Live In Pink” campaign styling the brand’s new limited edition capsule collection. Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony Foundation. Internationally known fashion house Ralph Lauren made breast cancer awareness a part of his charitable foundation 10 years ago with The Pink Pony Fund. Pink Pony is Ralph Lauren’s worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer. Ten percent of the purchase price of Pink Pony products benefits the Pink Pony Fund of the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation to support programs for screening, early diagnosis, treatment, research and patient navigation.
