Shop Pink: Fashion Brands Fighting Breast Cancer During October’s Awareness Month

Throughout the month of October, we’ll be seeing a lot more PINK as Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches. One-in-eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime and breast cancer is the number one cause of death in women age 15-52. Not only are fashion labels chipping in to the cause, but so is the CFDA (Council Of Fashion Designers America). This month, you can shop for clothing and accessories by Ralph Lauren, Guess, Pandora, BCBG, and Tory Burch, while helping to find a cure. Miss A is delighted to share a few of our favorite brands and companies supporting the fight against breast cancer so that our readers can shop PINK throughout the month and take part in the action. Giving back has never looked this good!

Miss A, along with numerous fashion brands and companies, partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which has granted more money to breast cancer research than any entity aside from the Federal government. Komen has granted $740 million in research, with $58 million given in 2012 alone. Join Miss A as we shop BCBG, Pandora, and other great labels while supporting the important work of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can also support Susan G. Komen throughout the year by shopping at ShopKomen.com.

Since their partnership began, this compassionate duo has raised over $400,000 for Susan G. Komen. Due to its success, the partnership felt compelled once again to keep the effort alive by developing this year’s design, Courage. Passionate about raising awareness for this cause, both BCBGMAXAZRIA and ClearVision Optical believe their efforts bring us another step closer to finding the cures for breast cancer. The combined guaranteed minimum donation is $25,000.

Pandora Jewelry also partners with Susan G. each year selling specialty pink ribbon beads and necklaces to support the promise. This year, Pandora donates 5% of the retail sales for the two special pink ribbon beads, pendants and necklace to Komen for the Cure, and will make a minimum guaranteed donation of $1,000,000. The beads are available at Pandora stores and jewelry and specialty gift stores.

The 2012 Fashion Targets Breast Cancer international t-shirt campaign is an effort to raise public awareness and funds to support breast cancer awareness, education, screening, and patient care. This year, supermodel Karolina Kurkova is the face of the campaign.“We are excited to have Karolina as the face of this campaign. She looks amazing wearing the FTBC Worldwide tee.  Her support leads our industry’s effort as we raise funds for breast cancer programs around the globe,” says CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. Inspired by Ralph Lauren, the campaign became an ongoing initiative of the CFDA Foundation. Loft.com + Giuliana Rancic. E! Star and new mommy Giuliana Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer just last year. This year, Giuliana is cancer free and determined to help others with breast cancer. “Fashion is the perfect outlet because it takes breast cancer awareness directly to women,” she says. “Women love to shop and use beauty products, so if they happen to see products out in the mall or in their local drugstore that are working in conjunction to breast cancer research, it might make them stop and think, ‘Oh I need to get checked!’ or ‘When was my last mammogram?’” Giuliana has recently partnered with Loft.com for their “Live In Pink” campaign styling the brand’s new limited edition capsule collection. Rancic designed a statement necklace specifically to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The necklace features shimmering rhinestones on gold links and can be purchased online. Twenty-five percent of proceeds will be donated.
