Annapolis Craft Beer And Music Festival To Benefit Arts Council Of Anne Arundel County

On Saturday October 27, 2012 at the Navy Marine-Corp Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, try dozens of award-winning handcrafted beers from around the region and nation at the first Craft Beer and Music Festival. In addition to the spirits, there will be two stages of live music featuring regional musicians with tunes from classic rock to island to entertain guests during this one-day, outdoor event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

The Lager Stage will include  Brothers & Sisters, Big MoneyThe Roadhouse Clams and Classic Case. Performers on The Pilsner Stage include Lilly & Mudd, Runaway Train, Bermuda Blue and The Dirty Names.

According to Jim Barthold of City Dock Productions, “in just a few short years, craft beer has developed a tremendous following among men and women of all ages. There are literally hundreds of craft beers being brewed today, each with its own distinctive characteristics. Tasting and comparing brews has become an exciting activity of beer enthusiast. This is a festival whose time has come, there is no other event like it in Annapolis.” Mr. Barthold explains, “The Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival combined the rare experience of sampling over 60 craft beers while listening to eight local popular bands…selecting from a menu of food items ranging from crab cakes to knockwurst and shopping at over 60 artisan exhibits.”

Featured breweries include Fordham Brewing Company, Dominion Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Union Craft Brewing, Crispen Hard Cider, Eastern Shore Brewing, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Heavy Seas, Boulevard Brewing Company, Port City Brewing Company, Yards Brewing Company, Flying Dog Brewery and New Belgium Brewing Company – and this is just a partial list of the breweries that attendees will sample.

Shop for arts and crafts and specialty food items and purchase delectable cuisine such as Maryland crab cakes and oysters on the half shell. Attend educational seminars on topics from “Artisan Beer 101″ to “Cooking with Beer.” And more than 50 exotic, classic, and antique cars will be on display.

VIP and General Admission tickets are available for purchase online. VIP tickets are $40 which includes early admission to the Festival beginning at 12 p.m. to partake in private beer tasting with 10 beer tokens and free admission to educational seminars. General admission tickets are $30 and include admission at 1:00 pm with 5 beer tokens. Additional beer tokens will be sold at the event for $1 each for a 4 oz. pour. All craft beer lovers receive a complimentary beer tasting mug.
