Spiked Milkshakes At Hotel Casa Del Mar

Labor Day has come and gone, but it’s still summer at Hotel Casa del Mar. Although adult snow cones are off the menu, spiked milkshakes are available through October. They even have a non-dairy option. Bourbon, Kahlua, Tequila and Vodka, not exactly typical ingredients for milkshakes, are included in the five new milkshakes, available at the Lobby Lounge and Veranda Bar.

Mudslide Shake: Kahlua, Godiva Liqueur, Milk, Coffee Ice Cream, Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream

Herbal Rush Shake (non-dairy): Vodka, Green Chartreuse, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Almond Milk, blended with ice

The Veranda Bar has such a cool atmosphere. The lounge chairs are very relaxing to sit in after a busy day. The staff is also very accommodating and the manager even came over and remade one of my drinks when he realized it was not right. Then he took it off my check! Everyone is super friendly and they make you feel like you are a movie star.

When I went they were offering the Cold Rush Shake, Spiced Pirate Shake and Mudslide Shake. One thing I did notice is that the shakes do not have the typical consistency of a milkshake. Instead, they are more like the consistency of milk. However, that is easy enough to ignore once you taste the deliciousness! The Cold Rush was pretty good and the Spiced Pirate is perfect if you are a fan of rum. However, the Mudslide was my favorite. I could taste all the ingredients, but at the same time the alcohol was not too overwhelming. I wish I could have gotten more!

So if you are planning a day at the Santa Monica Pier or a night out with the girls, stop by Hotel Casa del Mar and don’t forget to let us know what you think of the shakes!
