Miss A Columnist

Lesley Haenny is an Air Force wife now living in the Seattle area. Prior to living in Seattle, Lesley spent 7 years in Washington, DC, working as a Congressional liaison. She grew up in a small, mountain town in Southern California, sandwiched between an older sister and a younger brother. Her two hard working parents taught her to always go for the clearance rack, bring your lunch everyday, work hard for what you have, and always take the opportunity to travel and play outside. Lesley has been actively involved in various charities such as the Animal Resource Foundation, Komen For the Cure, Prevent Cancer Foundation, American Diabetes Association and the Race for Hope (benefitting the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure).

The fashion team at the Bellevue Collection will be holding its Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection this Wednesday, September 26 through Sunday, September 30.

On Wednesday, September 26, teamed with Fashion Group International (FGI) and Femfessionals in Seattle, The Bellevue Collection will hold the first-ever Independent Designer Runway Show during the Northwest’s premier fashion event. Six lucky designers, chosen by a panel of judges selected by FGI and Femprofessionals will share the stage with Seattle-area NBC’s Season One Fashion Star contestants Lisa Vian Hunter of Vian Hunter House of Fashion, and Lizzie Parker along with her partner Nicolas Bowes of Los Angeles, also a Fashion Star contestant.

Fashion week in Bellevue will also include three other runway events:

September 27: Nordstrom Fall Fashion Show, spotlighting the best of contemporary and emerging designers. Proceeds will benefit the Detlef Schrempf Foundation. The Detlef Schrempf Foundation was formed on January 1, 1996 by Detlef Schrempf and his wife, Mari, as a result of their belief in the value of a solid family life, and the desire to give back to a community that has given them so much. The Detlef Schrempf Foundation serves as a fundraising entity for Northwest children’s charities, enabling organizations to expand their own fundraising efforts. The foundation’s vision is to assist these support organizations in their quest to provide children a better chance at succeeding in life.

September 28th: Posh Party Beauty and Trend Show, a stylish evening of cocktails, appetizers, a runway show of fall’s must-have fashion and beauty trends – all to benefit Bellevue LifeSpring. The mission of the Bellevue LifeSpring is to promote stability, self-sufficiency and independence for those in need in the Bellevue community through programs and services that feed, clothe, shelter and educate.
