There were manicures, manicures and more manicures a la Essie at The Beverly Hills Hotel this past Friday. The exclusive event was held in one of the posh bungalows—number 22 to be exact, and commemorated the 64th annual daytime Emmy awards. In addition to being sponsored by Essie, the occasion also launched Stylenomics, the super-chic nail polish brand’s fall 2012 collection.
The brazen new collection includes six purple-based shades with names as bold as the colors themselves. Guests enjoyed having their nails done in pigments such as Recessionista, a deep Magenta, Head Mistress, a dark, daring Red, Don’t Sweater It, a warm, neutral Mauve, Stylenomics, a rich Green that’s currently being touted as the new Black, Skirting the Issue, a dramatic, saturated Burgundy, and my personal favorite, Miss Fancy Pants, every bombshell’s much-loved mix of Grey and Beige—Greige.
After being treated to perfectly polished talons by Essie nail specialists, guests mingled in the luxurious suite while enjoying live jazz, and sipping champagne with raspberries. They also dined on mini quiches, marzipan-dipped strawberries and other delectables.
In true old-Hollywood style, attendees were photographed placing their gorgeous hands in a ceramic mold fit for Graumann’s Chinese Theatre, bearing none other than the name Essie. They also signed souvenir postcards singing the polish’s praises with messages such as “Dear Essie, thank you for the perfect shade of red” and “I feel like a million bucks in Stylenomics green.” The signed postcards were hung on the Essie Wall of Fame—how festive is that??
And, no fabulous event would be complete without a little swag. Attendees received gift bags which included the entire Stylenomics collection.
Essie, which has been known as “America’s nail salon expert since 1981” not only remains one of the most loved brands around, but it’s been the recipient of dozens of awards by Allure, Redbook Shape and numerous other publications over the last several decades.
Raspberry champagne, gift bags filled with luscious nail lacquer and a fabulous bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel—what wasn’t to love? I left the event feeling like none other than the nail color I was sporting, Miss Fancy Pants.
