Recap: Mud Puppies Preview Party Benefiting Austin Dog Rescue

From a “Puppy Love” mural to dog paintings dancing on the side of the wall, the new Mud Puppies location is definitely a fun place to be, but it doesn’t end there. From the minute guests walk in, warm green and blue walls greet them, along with a whimsical “menu” of services.

There was a lot going on at the Mud Puppies Preview Party. While staff members took guests on tours of the new facilities, supporters mingled in the courtyard, looking at raffle and silent auction items. Guests also took photos in the photo booth.

As guests walked around the facility, staff members pointed out the self-service dog washes, the play areas and the grooming stations. Many guests, including Alicia Dean, KXAN’s Assistant News Director, were amazed at how big it is. And they are not done growing yet, there is a phase two with more play areas for the dogs.

Throughout the evening, raffle prizes were drawn and handed out. Proceeds from the evening, between the raffle tickets, silent auction items and bartender tips, went to Austin Dog Rescue. Executive Director Joyce Martin was very appreciative at the generosity Mud Puppies has showed. She feels being inclusive and doing events like this really helps raise awareness.

General Manager Edward Flores knew that he wanted to have a preview party, but he also knew that the party needed to support a cause and help others. For him, that is the real reason to party. With the help of the generosity of the Austin community, Mud Puppies was able to help raise more than $3300 for Austin Dog Rescue.
