Michael Franti & Spearhead will headline Music for the Soul 2012 on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at The Long Center. Music for the Soul is a fundraising event benefiting Kids in a New Grove (K.I.N.G.), a non-profit organization that provides private one-on-one music mentorship to kids in the Texas foster care system.
Franti’s socially conscious platform in combination with his recent hit record, “The Sound of Sunshine,” is a perfect fit for K.I.N.G.’s mission. “Music is sunshine,” says Franti. “Like sunshine, music is a powerful force that can instantly and almost chemically change your entire mood. Music gives us new energy and a stronger sense of purpose….somehow [music] lifts us all up out of our most difficult moments in life to unimaginable heights.”
In addition to regular and premium seating, tickets for VIP seats and the pre-party are also available. DJ Chicken George will kick off the VIP portion of the night in the Kodosky Lounge, and attendees will enjoy a casual dinner, cocktails all night and premium concert seating.
