On Thursday, September 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the United Way Emerging Leaders Season Kick-Off Mixer will be held at the historic Liberty Hotel in Boston and all are welcome!
The United Way’s Emerging Leaders program is the largest and fastest growing organization of its class. The program connects civic-minded young professionals to volunteer opportunities, leadership development, and social networking events such as the Kick-Off Mixer!
Ironically, the former prison building will host over 2,800 of United Way’s young professional affiliates from all career backgrounds, who are looking to give back to the Boston community and learn about future volunteer opportunities.
The event will either be held in The Yard or The Catwalk depending on the weather. Either way, it’s safe to say that regardless of the jail’s hotel makeover, there’s bound to be a few Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins (“The Shawshank Redemption” anyone?) impersonations as people meet and mingle with other good Samaritans!
There is no cover but a suggested $20 donation at the door to benefit Youth Venture, a program that helps youths aged 12-20 cultivate small business ideas that will benefit their communities.
