Elluminize Lash Extensions In Austin

I recently experienced a beauty treatment that I have been wanting to try for years: lash extensions. I visited Ize Calina at Elluminize on Bee Caves Road for a preview before the actual extensions. While my lashes are pretty short without cosmetic enhancement, they are thick and Ize assured me would work out perfectly with the extensions.

Ize started working with lashes five and a half years ago and fell in love with working on them because she feels it is an art form.  She has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 15 years. Her favorite philanthropic cause is Star of Hope which helps children from third world countries with education, basic needs, meals and more. She donates to their cause and gives clients that donate a discount, for example if you donate $100 to Star of Hope, Ize will give you a $100 discount off your lash service.

I visited a few weeks later, right before a big wedding that I was in, so I’d have plenty of reasons to show them off.  The process took a little under three hours, so make sure you go when you have plenty of time and won’t be worried about missed calls or emails.

While it’s not exactly quite like lying on a table getting a massage, it’s an easy process of laying still on the table. Ize made great small talk as we discussed vacations and summer plans while she glued over 200 lashes to each eye. Ize uses a combination of mink and synthetic lashes for better quality and a completely natural look.

She used three different curvatures on me with the synthetic lashes and two different curvatures with the mink. Then, I had five different synthetic lengths and four different mink lengths. The final effect was gorgeous and so, so natural. It looked like I just bought the perfect new mascara and had a really great eyelash curler as well.

Ize says for guest’s first visit she likes to keep the look pretty natural and then move into more dramatic requests once customers get the feel of lashes. Well, it’s been over two weeks now and my lashes still look amazing, they should last anywhere from five to six weeks with proper care–which includes not using any products with oil near your eyes, not getting them wet for the first 24 hours and using baby shampoo if you do want to wear additional eyeshadow or eyeliner to remove it (but for me additional eye makeup wasn’t needed at all as my lashes look so pretty with just the extensions!).

After visiting for the initial extensions, the upkeep (usually every five to six weeks) is a much shorter and less expensive visit. With how naturally pretty I have felt just waking up every day with my lashes, I know I’ll be back to visit again in a month and a half for a touch up of these amazing extensions!
