Alanis Morissette At Chicago’s Riviera Theatre

Alanis Morissette is back! Her album “Jagged Little Pill” inspired tons of young women in the 1990s. Now, Morissette will perform her hits and new songs from her newest album, Havoc and Bright Lights”.

Morissette burst onto the international music scene in 1995 with hit songs like “You Oughta Know’‘ and “Ironic.” These emotional songs helped “Pill” sell more than 30 million copies worldwide. Not only did Morissette become a top-selling artist, she inspired female musicians to safely express their anger, fears and doubts through music. Even perfect pop star Beyonce got in touch with her inner angry rock star by covering ”You Ought Know” live. Though Morissette was full of rage in the 90′s, she’s mellowed a lot since “Pill”.

No doubt Morissette has calmed down since the birth of her son, Ever. Instead of slowing down, motherhood has made her more creative. Morissette has written on mommy blogs and her music has become more introspective and happier. Lyrics from songs like “The Guardian” such as, ”I’ll be your keeper for life as your guardian,” show the gentler side of the artist. Morissette has also shown her charitable side by supporting Oxfam and Made Trade Fair, international organizations that help create opportunities for people in developing countries.

Morissette is not only a great songwriter, she’s a powerful live performer. Fans will get a chance to her in an intimate stting at the Riviera Theatre in the Uptown neighborhood. Fans should get tickets to see Alanis Morrissette perform from her impressive catalog of songs.
