On September 6, cult Finnish fashion brand Ivana Helsinki kicked off New York Fashion Week by debuting their new Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Mourning Sun Motel, at RUNWAY@Pier 57. The collection, which featured their signature exaggerated silhouettes and eye-catching prints, is based on a film shot by designer Paola Suhonen in Finland during this past summer.
Among the nearly 600 guests, notable attendees included Camilla Santuti, Cappie Pondexter, Erika Spring, Ryan Serhant and Devorah Rose. The runway show featured footwear provided by Seychelles. Hair and makeup was done by Brian C. Hawkins for Paul Mitchell and Mirabella, with stylists uploading looks live from the event using the Bangstyle app. The show was followed by an after party later that evening at the Ivana Helsinki Concept Store at 251 Elizabeth Street with DJ Erika Spring and a performance by Alexa Wilding.
