Cosmetics legend Bobbi Brown who started her cosmetics line in 1991 with the launch of brown-based lipsticks, is now the number one makeup artist brand founded by a woman made a huge announcement this week.  Bobbi Brown Cosmetics announced that Katie Holmes will be the brand’s first-ever celebrity face.

The partnership will be seen in the Spring 2013 ad campaigns, boxes, editorials as well on-counter displays.  The brand and Bobbi have always stated that makeup is to enhance a woman’s unique beauty and fell like herself with a little more confidence.  The brand has always used every day woman images and models in advertising.

Bobbi and Katie met just 2 months ago and the two immediatley hit it off.  “We weren’t looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she’s just ridiculously, naturally beautiful.” said Brown

Katie Holmes said yes to the cosmetic icon and in a statement released a few days ago, spoke of the cosmetics line and her thoughts on makeup.  “Bobbi is exceptional and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is make-up that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty.   “Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Make-up is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.”

Bobbi Brown will be the lead makeup artist at NYC Fashion Week, Wednesday Sept. 12th for Katie Holmes’s new clothing line Holmes & Yang.

I for one can not wait to see the looks on the NYC Runway as well as the collaboration coming this Spring.
