Do you and your family like celebrating birthdays? OK, it’s hard not to have a smile on your face while singing “Happy Birthday”. So come to the Seattle Center Big Birthday Bash on Saturday, September 8 for free, family-friendly fun.
This year marks a big birthday for Seattle Center and the Space Needle. This year commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. The 74-acre Seattle Center campus, home to more than 30 cultural, educational, sports and entertainment organizations presents nearly 5,000 events annually. (That’s more than 250,000 ‘parties’ over 50 years)
While there won’t be 50 candles on top of the Space Needle, there WILL be cake for the first 1,500 people, music and lots of fun activities for the whole family. The Seattle Center Big Birthday Bash starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. (but be sure to get there early if you want cake!)
Kids ages 0-12 are invited to participate in the Junior League of Seattle‘s Kid Zone. There will be face-painting, three-legged races, goodie bags and more. As part of Junior League’s commitment to art, the first 1,000 kids will receive a free World’s Fair coloring book.
Plus, the Monorail and EMP are also free for all kids!
