Dallas foodies have so many delicious things to be thankful for. From cheese to chocolate to wine and beef, Dallas loves a great meal, and on September 22-23, 2012 the beloved Washington, DC transplant, The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show, presented by the Dallas Morning News will be making its inaugural appearance in Dallas.
For years, I have trekked to Washington to take part in the experience and now, the show is coming here to Dallas. To be held at the Dallas Convention Center over two food-filled days, expect a spotlight on local artisan brands in the marketplace, demonstrations from local chefs, interactive cooking and beverage displays and celebrity chef book signings in one of the largest culinary experiences to hit Dallas.
Recently, we stopped by the media preview night to see what was planned for the Dallas show. And, not to spoil the surprise, big things are planned. Bobby Flay and Paula Deen are set to headline the extravaganza, but not to be outdone the local chef roster for appearances is impressive include Top Chef Alum Tre Wilcox, Abraham Salum, Stephen Pyles, The Rosewood Mansion’s Bruno Davillion, Donna Collins, Komali’s Anastacia Quiñones and many more. With over 100 vendors and chic VIP experiences in-store, you are going to want to buy your tickets soon, as my experience is that these unique experiences sell-out quickly. Be sure to stop by the entertaining workshops to learn more tips on how to host your own fabulous get-together or take a moment to greet one of the chefs that call Dallas home.
