Recap Of CultureHaus’ Bash 2012 And Interview With Model Of Local Designer Fallene Wells

CultureHaus’ annual Bash event, this year themed Fashion to the MAX, had one mission: to celebrate (stylishly of course), the art of fashion design. The 2012 Bash event can be classified “Mission Accomplished”, as guests partied the night away over cocktails, great conversation and strips of chiffon.

The party wasn’t limited to one floor either, as the fun continued to pop over upstairs–literally. Delicious popcorn snacks were provided by Doc Popcorn. Guests were able to experience an interactive fashion studio, where they could design sketches, pin mannequins with an assortment of fabrics and learn about the fashion design process from local designers. Guests were even provided with a sample wardrobe (complete with a pink feather boa) and encouraged to play dress up and then rip the runway.

As guests took to the catwalk, video highlights from a runway show by the legendary Yves Saint Laurent played nearby, providing fierce competition to the Bash’s guests-turned-models. The Black Diamond Photo Booth provided opportunities for guests to play dress up and get free snapshots taken. Unable to resist a photo-op, my friend and I posed in the booth with Mr. Potato Head-inspired moustaches, lips on a stick and top hats.

As the night went on, local fashion designer Fallene Wells made an appearance to unveil one of the dresses from her highly anticipated fall line, Modern Nouveau, planned to launch the next day. I snagged the opportunity to talk to one of Fallene’s models, Danielle, to inquire about her experiences working with Fallene and the new Modern Nouveau clothing line.

Q: How long have you known Fallene?

A: I first met Fallene at her Forever Darling Season 4 fashion show, which was two years ago. That particular show was memorable. Anything with Fallene involved is going to be fun and high energy.

Q: What do you think of Fallene’s new clothing line Modern Nouveau?

A: I think the new line is adorable. I work as a receptionist, and have to be fairly conservative at work. Fallene’s new line has lots of 30’s inspired mix and match pieces that allow me not only to look professional, but have fun while doing it!

Q: Would you wear anything from Fallene’s Modern Nouveau line? Why?

A: I would definitely wear pieces from her new line. I like how versatile the pieces are, because you can dress them up or dress them down. Lots of the pieces can be worn with jeans and flats, and if you prefer a dressier look, with a skirt and heels!
