The Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association (ACVA) will participate in the Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) for the first time ever. Fashion’s Night Out is a global retail initiative that celebrates fashion, culture and lifestyle. In 2011, it was celebrated in 18 countries with more than 4,500 events in the U.S. alone.
Alexandria is known for its historic character mixed with modern-day flair, and features a unique collection of local, independent retailers. Shoppers can kick off the fall shopping season by enjoying this signature evening. Businesses throughout the city will host and feature exciting events from cocktails, restaurant specials, music, fashion shows, trunk shows and exclusive style events.
“Alexandria Fashion’s Night Out celebrates the entrepreneurial, independent spirit that thrives here,” said Stephanie Pace Brown, president and CEO of the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association. “The city has become a stylish shopping destination for fashion, home décor and culinary experiences.”
A host committee, chaired by Tameka Young, wife of Alexandria City Manager Rashad Young, includes representatives of the Old Town Boutique District, Alexandria Transit/DASH, Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, the Old Town Business and Professional Association and the Del Ray Business Association. Be sure to like them on Facebook for all the latest information.
